TWO HALOS

TWO HALOS is my first album that is independent from any other project. Truly starting in September of 2023, it’s the culmination of many ideas, scratchpads, and “that sounds neat” practice files that I’ve piled up since May of that year. The album is blended with tense, slowly paced songs and breakneck speed beats. I was very happy to experiment with some of the tracks on here, and wasn’t afraid of showing where many of my inspirations lie.

The album’s artwork was made by myself, some of the text on it is written in a constructed language I made, Vono Cripta. The font is also a return to a previous font set I made that was designed for cryptography and puzzle design.

To Call From Her Name

To Call From Her Name is a single (a separate intro and main song) I wrote in April of 2024, basing it off of a character I wrote and play in some roleplay spaces with friends. I used a heavy setup of string and piano synths to create a more ornate feeling against the hectic drum and bass lines. The organ synth was also chosen to fit with the angelic theming that this character had. Duality of the Blade ended up having a very simple main rhythm that ended up being nicely catchy and fun to hop off of.

Workflow

Workflow is a single I made in July of 2023. Largely inspired by breakbeat songs from the 90s, I took the opportunity to experiment with sampling and distorting vocals on a base that was more bright and cheery. This was a rather fun track to work on, and set some of the stepping stones for my own production techniques that would show up in TWO HALOS.

I’ll Hold Your Hand, Forever

I’ll Hold Your Hand, Forever was made in March and April of 2023. It is deeply characterized by how I felt at the time: remorseful, nostalgic, and standstill. This was a point in time where I was trying out new mediums and questioning what sort of identity I really wanted to have. The EP is bathed in soft noise and echoes to create a memory-like experience, where you try to recollect something that’s happened, but pieces are already gone. This was also a turning point in discovering what I really liked to do with my production and with the genres I wanted to work in.
